About JEDI101

The Southeastern Environmental Education Alliance is partnering with the following southeast states to provide a regional course on Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion for environmental educators: Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Tennessee. If you are a resident of North Carolina or Georgia, you can take the course in your state. See state links for more information.

This course is designed to provide a strong foundation in the language, concepts and principles of equity work. It is meant to be an introductory course and spark interest in further learning around justice, equity, diversity and inclusion. This course was developed through a partnership between the Center for Diversity and the Environment, EcoInclusive, Environmental Educators of North Carolina, Kansas Association for Conservation and Environmental Education, Kentucky Association for Environmental Education, and Youth Outside.

This is a hybrid course. Participants will complete course work on their own time with required weekly submissions in addition to attending required virtual meetings facilitated by Lighthouse Strategy Consulting. Please see the syllabus for details.

*Ultimately, pay what you can. During checkout, enter the dollar amount that works best for you. We offer this registration option as an intentional effort of class solidarity to ensure professional learning is accessible to all.

What is Class Solidarity? Class refers to where you fit into the world regarding finances (for example, poor, working class, middle class, wealthy). If you are registering and your organization is paying for your participation, please enter the member/non-member rate, unless this will also be a barrier for your organization (such as a grassroots nonprofit). If you or your organization can pay the full cost, you will be taking an action of solidarity and making SEEA's professional learning opportunities more accessible for people who cannot afford to pay as much. No matter what you pay for the eeCourses, there is no judgment. Pay what you can but most importantly: join us! We are so excited to be a part of your professional learning journey.
